FROM THE PEACE COMMISSION REQUESTING TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM MR. AND MRS BARTOW OF SCULPTURE.

WHEREAS: The Peace commission has been donated a sculpture from Mr. and Mrs. Bartow, and
WHEREAS: The sculpture is named “The Amistad Faces” and is made of wood, and
WHEREAS: The sculpture was unveiled in Mystic, Connecticut, in 2000 and it was made by the famed sculptor RS Holdt., and
WHEREAS: The sculpture represents the lives of the African people who were on the original Schooner, the Amistad, in 1839.
NOW THERFORE BE IT ORDERED by the New Haven Boad of Alders that the sculpture donated to the Peace Commission be accepted.
