RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (CTDEEP) AND SIGN ANY AGREEMENTS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE DESIRABLE OR NECESSARY, INCLUDING ANY SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS, REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS TO EDGEWOOD PARK.

WHEREAS, the State of Connecticut Office of Policy and Management (OPM) has authorized this project to be funded from the Federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA); and

 

WHEREAS, the ARPA funding is intended to support improving outdoor spaces as a response to the public health emergency and/or its negative economic impacts in accordance with federal regulations; and

 

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) will administer the funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven through its Department of Engineering, will work with the New Haven Parks Commission and the community at large to develop said improvements; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven desires to continue to improve its parks facilities and to provide active recreational opportunities for its residents and the community at large; and

 

WHEREAS, New Haven Residents, especially surrounding neighborhoods will benefit from the improvements to Edgewood Park.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) and sign any associated agreements, agreements with contractors and other documents that may be desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements, including any required indemnifications of the state regarding improvements to Edgewood Park utilizing funds under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
