TITLE

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE OVERDOSE DATA TO ACTION GRANT AWARD FROM THE QUINNIPIACK VALLEY HEALTH DISTRICT FROM SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 TO AUGUST 31, 2023.

WHEREAS, the New Haven Health Department recognizes the importance of increasing providing New Haven’s residents with services for opioid use disorder;

 

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven will apply for funding from the Quinnipiack Valley Health District; and upon receipt of such grant, the City will accept said grant in its entirety;

 

WHEREAS, the Quinnipiack Valley Health District has provided the City of New Haven Health Department the opportunity to apply for funding under the Overdose Data to Action Grant to decrease stigma surrounding opioid use disorder, increase the number of medical providers who offer medication assisted treatment, connect individuals with substance use disorders and mental health needs to treatment, and develop data sharing systems between the health department and first responders;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to apply for and accept the grant mentioned herein from the Quinnipiack Valley Health District.

 

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute said application for funding for an amount of about $88,987 and to execute any revisions, amendments or modifications to said contract.
