RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (CTDEEP) AND SIGN ANY ASSOCIATED STATE AGREEMENTS, AGREEMENTS WITH CONTRACTORS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE DESIRABLE OR NECESSARY, INCLUDING ANY SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS, REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS TO EAST SHORE PARK.

Whereas, the State of Connecticut legislature met and authorized state funding for improvements at East Shore Park under Public Act 21-2; and

 

Whereas, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) will administer the funds; and

 

Whereas, the project is funded 100% by grant funds which will be administered through the city subject to reimbursement; and

 

Whereas, the City of New Haven desires to continue to improve its parks and fields to provide active recreational opportunities for its residents; and

 

Whereas, New Haven residents, especially its youth will benefit from the improvements to East Shore Park.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) and sign any associated agreements, with the State of Connecticut, contractors, subsequent amendments, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the mayor deems necessary or desirable, regarding improvements to East Shore Park.
