ORDER CONCERNING BOOKER T. WASHINGTON ACADEMY REQUESTING TAX ASSISTANCE ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 804 STATE ST. NEW HAVEN, CT 06511.

Body

WHEREAS: The Booker T. Washington Academy is a Charter School with over 500 New Haven students; and

WHEREAS: Booker T. Washington leases a building from Saint Stanislaw Roman Catholic Church located at 804 State Street, New Haven; and

WHEREAS: The property located at 804 State Street provides income to the Saint Stanislaw Church and is subject to New Haven Property Taxes; and

WHEREAS: The agreement between Saint Stanislaw Church and Booker T. Washington Academy is that the Academy is responsible for paying the City of New Haven Property Taxes; and

WHEREAS: It is a financial hardship for the Booker T. Washington Academy to pay these taxes.

NOW THERFORE BE IT ORDERED that the taxes, account number 458446, for Grand List 2021 be reduced in half and the new tax amount be $100,557.88.
