ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE SERVICE TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM BUCKEYE PARTNERS L.P. TO ACCEPT 265 GALLONS OF NATIONAL UNIVERSAL GREEN 3% SYNTHETIC FOAM CONCENTRATE IN LIEU OF PAYMENT FOR EXTRA DUTY FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES PROVIDED FEBRUARY 9 AND 10 2022

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven through its Department of Fire Services (NHFD) seeks to remain effective in the extinguishment of all fires, including petroleum based; and
WHEREAS, the State of Connecticut has disallowed the use of current firefighting foam cashe held by the City of New Haven due to products included in the concentrate; and
WHEREAS, Buckeye Partners L.P. has offered to donate required National Universal Green 3% Synthetic Foam Concentrate (265 gallons) with a cost of $9381.00; and
WHEREAS, Buckeye Partners L.P. owns and operates a diversified global network of integrated assets providing midstream; and
WHEREAS, required National Universal Green 3% Synthetic Foam Concentrate has been specifically designed to extinguish Class A and B chemical fires; and
WHEREAS, National Universal Green 3% Synthetic Foam Concentrate has achieved GreenScreen Certification; and
WHEREAS, the NHFD provided fire suppression coverage through extra duty at an expense of $8552.63 to be forgiven upon successful donation to the NHFD; and
WHEREAS, there is no additional financial impact not already held by the NHFD; and
WHEREAS, the NHFD is grateful to the have this opportunity; and
WHEREAS, the NHFD has the goal of providing the most comprehensive and effective capabilities of any fire department:
Now Therefore Be It Ordered that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven authorizes and approves the Department of Fire Service acceptance of a donation from Buckeye Partners L.P. of 265 gallons of national universal green 3% synthetic foam concentrate in lieu of payment for extra duty fire protection services provided February 9, 2022 and Feb...
