ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A FEDERAL EARMARK IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO MILLION DOLLARS ($2,000,000) FOR CRISIS RESPONSE SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven through its Department of Community Resilience seeks to enhance responses to crises related to mental health, substance use, welfare, and poverty; and.
WHEREAS, the Federal Government, through its appropriation (Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022; H.R. 2471) process earmarked $2,000,000 for the City of New Haven to implement crisis response initiatives; and,
WHEREAS, the funds are a significant asset to the Department of Community Resilience to implement crises response initiatives including but not limited to the Elm City COMPASS Team (New Haven Crisis Response Team); and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED THAT the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven authorizes the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to accept the grant mentioned herein from the Federal Government.
