ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF THE POSTIONS OF PROCESSING CLERK (#760) AND PROCESSING CLERK BILINGUAL (#790) TO ASSISTANT REGISTRAR IN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, VITAL STATISTICS OFFICE

WHEREAS Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-386 of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders to create a position not included in the budget as adopted, or to reclassify an existing and included position.

 

WHEREAS, The Department of Health, Vital Statistics Office currently has two position vacancies of processing clerk (#760) and processing clerk bilingual (#790).; and,

 

WHEREAS The Department of Health is seeking Board of Alder approval to reclassify the two vacant positions to Assistant Registrar: and

 

WHEREAS The FY 2021-22 combined position salary budget for processing clerk (#760) and processing clerk bilingual (#790) is $91,164.; and,

 

WHEREAS The Department of Health is not seeking a budgetary transfer and is planning to hire within the allocated funds for the positions of Assistant Registrar (within bargaining unit agreement rules).

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that The Department of Health, Vital Statistics Office vacant positions of processing clerk (#760) and processing clerk bilingual (#790) be reclassified to Assistant Registrar.
