RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A HEALTH HOMES PRODUCTION GRANT FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000,000 FOR THE PERIOD OF OCTOBER 27, 2021 TO APRIL 27, 2025 AND TO TAKE A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO ADDRESSING MULTIPLE CHILDHOOD DISEASES AND INJURIES IN THE HOME BY FOCUSING ON HOUSING-RELATED HAZARDS IN A COORDINATED FASHION AND TO EXECUTE, ACKNOWLEDGE, IMPLEMENT AND DELIVER ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE WITH RESPECT THERETO.

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven Health Department recognizes the importance ensuring that families with young children, adults 62 years of age and older, as well as families with disabled persons should have access to healthy and safe housing;
Whereas, the City of New Haven Health Department is committed to providing education and outreach on ways to mitigate home safety hazards;
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven will apply for the Healthy Homes Production grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City will accept said grant in its entirety;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to apply for and accept the grant mentioned herein from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development;
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute said application for funding for an amount of about $2,000,000 and to execute any revisions, amendments or modifications to said contract.
