ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS ESTABLISHING A RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE FROM 32 to 128 MORRIS AVENUE.

WHEREAS, the majority of residences between 32 to 128 Morris Avenue have petitioned the Board of Alders to create a Residential Parking Zone; and

 

WHEREAS, Morris Avenue is part of a densely populated residential neighborhood which is experiencing congestion and a serious shortage of on-street parking; and

 

WHEREAS, there is a real need for a Residential Parking Zone on this street*, since much of the on-street parking is now being taken by overflow parking from those visiting nearby Lighthouse Park; and

 

WHEREAS, the lack of on-street parking and the resulting parking shortage has created a hardship on these area residents, who depend on the availability of the limited area on-street parking spaces to meet the basic needs of their households.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the New Haven Board of Alders that a Residential Parking Zone be and hereby is established from 32 to 128 Morris Avenue, between the nearest cross streets of Meadow View Road and Lighthouse Road and that the Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking is directed to process the appropriate documents for submission to the New Haven Traffic Authority.
