ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (CTDEEP) UNDER THE FEDERAL CLEAN VESSEL ACT (CVA) GRANT PROGRAM AND SIGN ANY ASSOCIATED STATE AGREEMENTS WITH CONTRACTORS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS THAT MAY BE DESIRABLE OR NECESSARY, INCLUDING ANY SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS, TO REPLACE THE PUMP OUT STATION AT LONG WHARF PIER.

WHEREAS, the Long Wharf Pier is an integral part of the New Haven Harbor; and
WHEREAS, the Long Wharf Pier is home to the historic Schooner Amistad; and
WHEREAS, the Long Wharf Pier serves marine vessels wishing to dock and/or moor in the Long Island Sound; and
WHEREAS, the pump out station on the pier requires replacement as it has reached its end of service life; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has funding available through the Federal Clean Vessel Act (CVA) Grant program to make said replacement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED THAT the Mayor is authorized to accept funding from the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CTDEEP) under the Federal Clean Vessel Act (CVA) Grant Program and sign any associated state agreements with contractors and other documents that may be desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements, to replace the pump out station at Long Wharf Pier.
