ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS DESIGNATING THE CORNER OF SPRING AND DEWITT STREETS AS “ANDREA JACKSON-BROOKS WAY” TO HONOR ANDREA JACKSON-BROOKS FOR HER MANY CONTRIBUTIONS, GREAT SERVICES AND LOYALTY TO HER COMMUNITY.

WHEREAS: Andrea Jackson-Brooks is a respected leader in the community, she has served 16 years as a member of the Board of Alders, representing the 4th Ward; and
WHEREAS: Ms. Jackson-Brooks has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life in the community; and
WHEREAS: also served as president of the Cornell Scott Hill Health Clinic Board of Directors, always spreading her compassion, her advocacy and leadership for affordable, quality healthcare for all.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the New Haven Board of Alders that in honor of her many contributions and great services to the New Haven community, the corner of Spring and Dewitt Streets is designated as “Andrea Jackson-Brooks Way”, making her legacy in New Haven’s Hill community stand as an official and permanent reminder of integrity, generosity, loyalty and dignity.
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the Department of Traffic and Parking is hereby directed and authorized to implement this order.
