ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE OUTSIDE LEGAL SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE LAW FIRM OF HOWD & LUDORF, LLC TO INCREASE THE TOTAL AGREEMENT AMOUNT BY TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($235,000.00) FOR FY 2025-2026.

WHEREAS, section 2-162 of the Code of General Ordinances requires Leadership of the Board of Alders approval for any city legal services contract that does not go to bid that costs less than one hundred fifty thousand dollars and zero cents ($150,000.00); and
WHEREAS, section 2-376 (A) of the Code of General Ordinances requires Board of Alders approval for any city contract that does not go to bid that costs more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars and zero cents ($150,000.00); and
WHEREAS, on June 11, 2025, the Office of Corporation Counsel for the City of New Haven, (“Corporation Counsel”) submitted a letter to the Leadership of the Board of Alders (“Leadership”) pursuant to Section 2-162 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of New Haven, and received Leadership approval to enter into a Legal Service Agreement (2025-CON-0220) with the law firm of Howd & Ludorf, LLC in the amount of one hundred forty-nine thousand dollars and zero cents ($149,000) from FY 2025-2026 GF 11331010-56696;
WHEREAS, on November 20, 2025, the Office of Corporation Counsel for the City of New Haven, (“Corporation Counsel”) submitted a package to the Board of Alders (“Board of Alders”) pursuant to Section 2-376 (A) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of New Haven, and received Board of Alders approval to enter into Amendment No. 1 to the legal service agreement (2026-CON-0059) with the firm of Howd & Ludorf, LLC to increase the total amount of the agreement by four hundred ninety-five thousand dollars and zero cents ($495,000) from FY 2025-2026 GF 11331010-56696, for a new agreement total of six hundred forty-four thousand dollars and zero cents ($644,000); and
