RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS PART OF THE LOCAL TRANSPORTATION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE ORANGE ST SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT.

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has available for the City of New Haven a grant to support the construction of the Orange St Traffic Safety project; and,

WHEREAS, the Orange St Traffic Safety project will improve safety for all users of Orange St; and,

WHEREAS, the project has been developed in response to significant public input; and,

WHEREAS, the project will increase pedestrian and active transportation safety by improving infrastructure for these vulnerable users.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT )and sign any associated state agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements regarding the development and implementation of the Orange Street Safety Improvements Project.
