TITLE
ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT WITH FIRST STUDENT INC. TO BE THE COMMERCIAL PROVIDER OF STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2024 TO JUNE 30, 2028 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $124,856,051.31.

WHEREAS, the New Haven Board of Education (the “Board”) and Board of Education, First Student Inc. (the “Vendor”) are the parties (collectively the “Parties”); and
WHEREAS, the Parties reached a tentative multi-year contract entitled First Student, Inc. to be the commercial provider of student transportation services July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2028 (the “2024-2028 Contract”); and
WHEREAS, the district staff submitted the multi-year contract with First Student, Inc. to be the commercial provider of student transportation services to the Board, which was approved at its March 11, 2024, Board of Education meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of New Haven requires the approval of the Board of Alders for the district to enter into a multi-year contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, that the multi-year contract with First Student, Inc. to be the commercial provider of student transportation services is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the President of the Board of Education or the Mayor is authorized to execute the 2024-2028 Contract as well as such additional instruments as may be deemed necessary or expedient to implement the terms of the 2024-2028.
