ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE #3 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025-26; PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VII OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES AND SECTIONS 2-388 TO 2-397; TRANSFERRING $1,000,000 IN CAPITAL FUNDS FROM TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO THE Innovation Cluster

WHEREAS, Article VII of the Charter and Sections 2-388 through 2-397 of the Code of General Ordinances authorize amendments to appropriating ordinances, including the transfer of capital funds between approved projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven has identified unused capital funds in the amount of $1,000,000 previously appropriated for Telecommunications accounts that are no longer required for their original purpose; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to transfer said funds to support the 2 Church Street Public Infrastructure Project, a component of the City’s economic development initiative known as “2 Church Street Public Infrastructure - Innovation Cluster”; and
WHEREAS, this reallocation will advance critical site improvement work, support economic revitalization efforts, and enable timely implementation of public infrastructure improvements; and
WHEREAS, upon approval by the Board of Alders, this transfer shall be recorded in the City’s capital budget accounts and filed with the Office of the City Clerk for public inspection;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that the following capital transfer is hereby approved:
• Transfer of one million dollars ($1,000,000) from Account 3C222202 / Object Code 58704 to the Department of Economic Development for the Innovation Cluster Infrastructure Project, Account 3xxxxxxx / Object Code 5xxxx
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the New Haven Board of Alders hereby authorizes the capital transfer for Fiscal Year 2025-26 and the amendment of the capital budget in accordance with the provisions set forth above.
