ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF ONE YEAR OPTION PER THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AND THE ALLING MEMORIAL GOLF CLUB, INC FOR THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE ALLING MEMORIAL GOLF COURSE

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven ("City") is the proprietor of the Alling Memorial Golf Course ("Course") established in 1929; and

WHEREAS, the general public has enjoyed the benefits of the Course at affordable prices for many years; and

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven wishes to continue the operation of the Course for many years to come; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative to the continued success of the Course that it be maintained and operated by certified golf course professionals to insure the continued enjoyment of the Course by the general public; and

WHEREAS, the Alling Memorial Golf Club, Inc. has operated and maintained the Course for the past 27 years; and

WHERAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals in 2017 for the operation and maintenance of the Course resulting in awarding the contract to the Alling Memorial Golf Club, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, said agreement was approved for a 10 year term by the Golf Course Advisory Board and the Parks Commission; and

Whereas, the Board of Alders approved a 5 year term with the 5 year option to be reviewed by the Board of Alders; and

Whereas, in 2022 the operator agreed to one year of the 5 year extensions to allow the City the opportunity to complete renovations prior to his anticipated retirement; and an Agreement was executed for January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 and

Whereas, renovations are not yet completed due to supply chain and project delays; and

Whereas, the operator has agreed to another one year of the allowed 5 year extension which will again allow the City the time to complete renovations to a point where a bid can be done with specific renovation timelines allowing for the best conditions to bid to produce competition and allow fo...
