ORDER CONCERNING CONNECTICUT CENTER FOR ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY, INC. AND CONNCORP, LLC REQUESTING TAX ASSISTANCE ON 150 DIXWELL AVENUE AND 200 DIXWELL AVENUE

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology, Inc. ("Conn CAT") is a non-profit organization engaging in job training and youth education in the City of New Haven, and

 

WHEREAS, Conn CORP, LLC ("ConnCORP") is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting development in the City of New Haven, including the property formerly known as the Dixwell Plaza, and

 

WHEREAS, ConnCORP 1s the owner of the property known as 150 Dixwell Avenue (MBL 294 0345 01102 and MBL 294 0345 01101) and 200 Dixwell A venue (MBL 294 0345 01100) (collectively the "Property"), which is in part ground leased to Conn CAT for its headquarters and include tenants that are similarly nonprofit organizations serving the Dixwell community, and

 

WHEREAS, ConnCAT and ConnCORP did not timely submit the required Quadrennial Renewal of the tax exemption applications previously granted for the Property to the City of New Haven Tax Assessor, and

 

WHEREAS, the Property was assessed for property taxes on the 2025 Grand List; and

 

WHEREAS, the Quadrennial Renewal tax exempt applications have since been filed with the City of New Haven Tax Assessor.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the taxes, interest and fees for the Property be forgiven.
