ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF A NEW THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH VERIZON WIRELESS FOR USE OF CELLULAR SERVICES BY THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AND BOARD OF EDUCATION

WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Charter and Sec. 2-376 of the General Code of Ordinances, multi-year agreements require approval by the Board of Alders; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven has negotiated a new three-year agreement with Verizon Wireless that includes a Customer Retention Incentive; and
WHEREAS, the negotiated agreement will result in a total cost of $1,984,068 over the three-year term, representing a savings of $883,932 when compared to the existing Verizon contract cost of $2,868,000 over the same period; and
WHEREAS, the contract will provide reliable cellular services necessary for City of New Haven and Board of Education operations while improving financial efficiency and cost predictability;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED that the Board of Alders hereby approves the three-year Verizon Wireless cellular services contract and authorizes the appropriate City officials to execute and administer the agreement in accordance with its terms; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven authorizes Mayor Justin Elicker to sign the three-year Verizon Wireless cellular services contract on behalf of the City of New Haven and Board of Education.
