RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF A 2025/26 HARLEY DAVIDSON ROAD GLIDE FROM AMERICA'S 911 FOUNDATION, INC AND TO EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION.

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven through its Department of Police Service (“NHPD”) has a commitment to public safety; and
WHEREAS, the NHPD would like to enhance public safety by allowing additional officers to be deployed on motorcycles for traffic enforcement, traffic control and special events; and
WHEREAS, the NHPD seeks to increase traffic enforcement which will further support the department’s efforts to improve pedestrian and driver safety throughout the City of New Haven; and
WHEREAS, the NHPD recognizes how important traffic and pedestrian safety is to the City and its residents; and
WHEREAS, America’s 911 Foundation has expressed a desire to donate a 2025/2026 Harley Davidson Road Glide outfitted with a police package to the NHPD; and
WHEREAS, this donation will help strengthen the Department’s motorcycle fleet and provide additional resources for traffic enforcement, traffic control, and special events; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders supports the NHPD’s efforts in continuing commitment to public safety.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of New Haven to accept the donation of a 2025/2026 Harley Davidson Road Glide from America’s 911 Foundation, Inc; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of New Haven to execute any necessary documentation related to the acceptance of this donation.
