RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ON TOWNSEND AVENUE.

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is working with the City of New Haven to improve the safety of Townsend Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven is planning improvements including two new crosswalks, sidewalk improvements, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons; and
WHEREAS, the Morris Cove community has requested these improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven and the Connecticut Department of Transportation would like to execute a maintenance agreement to delineate maintenance responsibilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the mayor is authorized to execute a maintenance agreement with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and sign any associated state agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements regarding the Townsend Avenue Crosswalk Improvements Project.
