ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFER #133-22-1 TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE EXPENDITURE RESERVE ACCOUNT TO THE OFFICE OF CORPORATION COUNSEL LEGAL SERVICES ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($200,000) TO AMEND THE CURRENT LEGAL SERVICE AGREEMENTS WITH THE LAW FIRMS OF BERCHEM & MOSES, AND HOWD & LUDORF

WHEREAS Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-383 (1) of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders for the transfer of funds within the General Fund Operating Budget, as adopted; and
WHEREAS The City entered into legal services agreements with the law firm of Berchem & Moses in the amount of Seventy Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($70,000.00); and the law firm of Howd & Ludorf in the amount of Ninety-Nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($99,500.00); and
WHEREAS The City shall amend the current legal service agreements with the law firm of Berchem & Moses, in the estimated amount of One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($175,000.00); and the law firm of Howd & Ludorf in the estimated amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($150,000.00); and
WHEREAS The Board of Alders approved an expenditure reserve budget in fiscal year 2021-22, in which the funds are needed to via a transfer for outside counsel legal services for the law firm of Howd & Ludorf and Berchem & Moses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that Transfer #133-22-1 be approved to transfer Two Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($200,000) from the expenditure reserve account to the Office of Corporation Counsel legal service account.
