Title

ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFER #131-20-1 TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE RAINY DAY FUND LINE ITEM TO THE MAYOR’S TRANSITION ACCOUNT.

Body

WHEREAS: Article III, Section 1(b) of the City of New Haven Charter states that “Transition period 153. Each newly elected Mayor shall be provided with at least one secretary, one professional staff assistant, furnished office space as such other assistance as the Board of Alders may approve  upon request of the Mayor-elect at the Board of Alder’s next meeting following the election for the period from November 15th in the year said Mayor was first elected up to the first (1st) day of said Mayor’s term of office so as to best effectuate the transition of the change of executive leadership of the City government, and

 

WHEREAS: It has been determined that the amount of no more than $75,000 will be needed to cover the transition period, and

 

WHEREAS: In the approved budget for the FY 2019-2020 there were no funds allocated for the transition costs; and

 

WHEREAS: The transfer of  no more than $75,000 from the Rainy Day Fund to a new budget line for the transition in the Mayor’s budget.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that Transfer #131-20-1 be approved to transfer no more than $75,000 from the Rainy Day fund to a new transition line item in the Mayor’s FY 2019-20 budget, 11311020 Other Contractual Services.
