RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ACCEPT AN URBAN ACT BOND AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF UP TO ONE MILLION DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($1,000,000) FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO EAST SHORE PARK INCLUDING YOUTH SOCCER FACILITIES.

WHEREAS, at their May 29, 2026 meeting, the State of Connecticut Bond Commission awarded the City of New Haven ("the City") $1,000,000 in state bond funding for improvements to East Shore Park, including youth soccer facilities; and
WHEREAS, the New Haven state delegation played an instrumental role in securing these State Bond Commission funds for improvements to East Shore Park and the youth soccer; and
WHEREAS, the Connecticut State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection ("CTDEEP") will be administering the release of these funds; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of receiving the funds, the City is asked to provide various documentation in addition to approval by the legislative body; and
WHEREAS, the City cannot begin work on any projects associated with this funding for East Shore Park, including youth soccer facilities, until a contract is executed with the state; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor of the City of New Haven or their designee is hereby authorized to accept an award of up to $1,000,000 in Urban Act Bond funding from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for improvements to East Shore Park and youth soccer facilities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor of the City of New Haven or their designee is authorized to sign any associated agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the May...
