ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS APPROVING THE STREET CLOSURE OF CHURCH STREET FROM CHAPEL STREET TO ELM STREET ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH, 2026 (WITH A RAIN DATE OF SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND, 2026).

WHEREAS, Black Wall Street shall once again be held on the New Haven Green on August 15th; and

 

WHEREAS, the closures of Church Street from Chapel Street to Elm Street is requested to ensure pedestrian safety during vendor load in and load out; and

 

WHEREAS, Temple Street will once again be closed from Chapel Street to Elm Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the rain date of Black Wall Street is August 22nd; and

 

WHEREAS, the closure shall occur between the hours of 6AM to 8PM.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the street closure of Church Street from Chapel Street to Elm Street on Saturday, August 15th, 2026,  and if necessary (due to inclement weather) Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 is hereby approved.
