ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN APPROVING THE ROLLING STREET CLOSURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2025 MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY LOVE MARCH ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2025

WHEREAS, in its 55th year the Martin Luther King Love March is a long-standing tradition in the city; and,
WHEREAS, The Love March, which was started by Shiloh’s late Founder and Pastor, Rev George W. Hampton Sr., has been a positive force in the community; and,
WHEREAS, the March has grown in popularity and size over time; and,
WHEREAS, the March will begin at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church located at 100 Lawrence Street; and,
WHEREAS, the March will begin at 10:30am and step off at approximately 10:45am; and,
WHEREAS, the March will proceed from Edwards Street to Whitney Ave to Lawrence Street to State Street and back to Edwards Street with closures throughout the route which will open upon passage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED THAT the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven hereby authorizes the rolling street closures associated with the 2025 Martin Luther King Day Love March on Wednesday, January 15, 2025
