RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS AROUND THE NEW HAVEN GREEN

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has offered a grant to the City of New Haven to improve the safety of roadways around the New Haven Green; and,

WHEREAS, pedestrian access and connectivity for the Green is very important for all New Haven residents and visitors to safely access the Green; and,

WHEREAS, the project is funded by Congressionally Directed Spending from the United States Congress as requested by the New Haven delegation; and,

WHEREAS, the Green is a historic treasure enjoyed by many in New Haven.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and sign any associated state agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the Mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements regarding the development and implementation of the New Haven Green Roadways Safety Improvements Project.
