ORDER CONCERNING THE OFFICES OF REGISTRAR OF VOTERS AND CITY CLERK TO EXAMINE AND ADDRESS UPCOMING (PRIMARY AND GENERAL) AND TO DISCUSS DISTRICT LINES FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVES AND STATE SENATORS
WHEREAS: it is appropriate to hold a workshop to explore and analyze how the Registrar of Voters directed a section of the 95th state house district to vote in the 97th state house district for two election cycles over four years, in 2022 and 2024, following redistricting; and
WHEREAS: as part of this we should also obtain a list of all New Haven Registrar of Voter errors identified by the UConn Voter Center since 2021 and dates of corresponding corrections; and
WHEREAS: it is also appropriate to hear a plan for identifying any remaining Registrar of Voter errors in state house and senate district assignments; and
WHEREAS: it is also appropriate to hear a plan for informing voters impacted by known Registrar of Voter error(s)
WHEREAS: the Secretary of the State’s office should also be invited to provide analysis and share best practices.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED that the Board of Alders committee held a workshop on order concerning the offices of Registrar of Voters and City Clerk to examine and address upcoming (primary and general) and to discuss district lines for state representatives and state senators.
