ORDINANCE AMENDMENT OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 RECLASSIFYING POSITION 300 EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE MANAGER.

WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-383 (1) of the Code of General Ordinances require the approval of the Board of Alders to create a position not included in the budget as adopted, or to reclassify an existing and included position; and
WHEREAS, a vacancy in the Executive Administrative Assistant position occurred on May 1, 2026 with the retirement of the existing employee after more than 25 years of service; and,
WHEREAS, a title reclassification is necessary to better align with the responsibilities of this specific role; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Department is seeking a neutral, no-cost budgetary adjustment permitting the revision of the position title; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Department is seeking approval to reclassify the position title of the following position:; and
Current Information:
General Funds, position #300 Local 3144, Executive Administrative Assistant, Range 7, Step 2, salary: $61,374
Revised Information:
General Funds, position #300, Local 3144 Administration and Finance Manager Range 9, Step 2, salary: $74,178
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that:
Section 1: The title of Executive Administrative Assistant is hereby reclassified as the Administration and Finance Manager under the City Plan General Funds budget.
