ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO ACCEPT A FEDERAL EARMARK IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($750,000.00) FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE SERVICES AND THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven through its Department of Police Service (NHPD) adopted and implemented a community policing philosophy that supports collaboration among its sworn officers and the community to reduce crime and improve public safety; and

 

WHEREAS, the Federal Government through its appropriation, (FY26 Community Project Funding) earmarked $750,000 for the City of New Haven’s Police Department’s upgrades; and,

 

WHEREAS, these funds are a significant asset to the Department of Police Services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED that the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven authorizes the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to accept the grant mentioned herein from the Federal Government.
