RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF NEW HAVEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A NON-PRIORITY GRANT AT A GRANT REIMBURSEMENT RATE OF 67.86% FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES OFFICE OF SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION GRANT REVIEW (CTDAS/OSCGR) FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ROOF AT WILBUR CROSS HIGH SCHOOL AND TO EXECUTE, ACKNOWLEDGE, IMPLEMENT AND DELIVER ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE WITH RESPECT THERETO

WHEREAS, the Board of Education must replace the roof at Wilbur Cross High School; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven, previously authorized the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the roof replacement project at Wilbur Cross High School on July 7, 2025 at a grant reimbursement rate of 67.86% in the amount of about $5,155,106.00, and to a cost to the City of $2,441,573; and
WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services has requested that the local legislative approval needed for the application clearly states the funding information regarding the replacement of the roof at Wilbur Cross High School; and
WHEREAS, the resolution has been updated to satisfy this requirement by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven names its Citywide School Building and Stewardship Committee as the building committee with regard to the roof replacement project at Wilbur Cross High School; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven hereby authorizes at least the preparation of schematic drawings and outline specifications for the roof replacement project at the Wilbur Cross High School.
