ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE #1 RECLASSIFYING POSITIONS WITHIN THE LABOR RELATIONS DIVISION; LABOR STAFF ATTORNEY POSITIONS #8006 AND #25001 TO SENIOR LABOR RELATIONS COUNSEL AND LABOR RELATIONS ASSOCIATE, RESPECITVELY.

WHEREAS, Section 2-386 of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders to create a position not included in the budget as adopted, or to reclassify an existing and included position; and
WHEREAS, the Labor Relations Division requires updates to position titles and classifications to better reflect responsibilities and operational needs; and
WHEREAS, the Labor Relations Division is seeking approval to reclassify the following position, to reflect increased responsibilities and expertise required for the role; and
Position 1:
Current Information:
Labor Relations Staff Attorney, Position #8006 - EM Range E5 - $127,302
Revised Information:
Senior Labor Relations Counsel, Position #8006 - EM Range E6- $138,000
WHEREAS, the Labor Relations Division is seeking approval to reclassify the following position, to align with revised duties and organizational structure.
Position 2:
Current Information:
Labor Relations Staff Attorney, Position #25001 - EM Range E5 - $127,302
Revised Information:
Labor Relations Associate, Position #25001 - EM Range E3 - $115,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that the position currently titled Labor Relations Staff Attorney (Position #8006) shall be reclassified to Senior Labor Relations Counsel; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDINANED by the New Haven Board of Alders that the position currently titled Labor Staff Attorney (Position #25001) shall be reclassified to Labor Relations Associate.
