RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS PART OF THE TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM GRANT FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE CHURCH ST SOUTH PROMENADE PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has offered the City of New Haven a grant to support the construction of the Church St South Promenade project; and,

WHEREAS, the Church St South Promenade would connect Union Station and the Hill with Downtown through a greatly improved pedestrian experience; and,

WHEREAS, the project will provide active transportation infrastructure to connect Union Station and the greater City active transportation network; and,

WHEREAS, the project will increase pedestrian and active transportation safety by improving infrastructure for these vulnerable users.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Federal Highway Administration, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and sign any associated state agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements regarding the development and implementation of the Church Street South Promenade Project.
