ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS APPROVING THE REQUEST . FROM ELEVATE CHARTER SCHOOLS FOR PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION FOR BOOKER T. WASHINGTON ACADEMY AND ST. STANISLAUS CHURCH.

WHEREAS: The Booker T. Washington Academy is a Charter School with over 500 New Haven students; and
WHEREAS: Booker T. Washington leases a building from Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church located at 804 State Street, New Haven; and
WHEREAS: The property located at 804 State Street provides income to the Saint Stanislaw Church and is subject to New Haven Property Taxes; and
WHEREAS: The agreement between Saint Stanislaus Church and Booker T. Washington Academy is that the Academy is responsible for paying the City of New Haven Property Taxes; and
WHEREAS: It is a financial hardship for the Booker T. Washington Academy to pay these taxes.
NOW THERFORE BE IT ORDERED that the unpaid taxes on account number 458446, for Grand List 2024 and that the balance due be forgiven.
