RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A HEALTHY HOMES PRODUCTION GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,000,000 FOR THE PERIOD OF NOVEMBER 2, 2026 TO MAY 1, 2030, AND TO EXECUTE, ACKNOWLEDGE, IMPLEMENT, AND DELIVER ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED NECESSARY OR APPROPRIATE WITH RESPECT THERETO.

WHEREAS, the City of New Haven Health Department recognizes the importance of ensuring that low-income families, older adults, and individuals with disabilities have access to healthy and safe housing; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven Health Department is committed to providing education, outreach, comprehensive home assessments, and environmental interventions to identify and mitigate housing-related health and safety hazards; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven will apply for the Healthy Homes Production Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the City will accept said grant in its entirety if awarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to apply for and accept the grant mentioned herein from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute said application for funding in an amount of $4,000,000 and to execute any revisions, amendments, or modifications to said grant agreement.
