ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A PROJECT AUTHORIZATION LETTER (“PAL”) AND ANY SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS (“PAL AMENDMENTS”) WITH THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR PROJECT #0173-0542 CONCERNING THE INSTALLATION AND REVISION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS ON ROUTE 1 (FORBES AVENUE)

WHEREAS, the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (“CTDOT”) intends to undertake construction to replace existing traffic control signal equipment with new equipment to meet current DOT standards at the intersections of Route 1 (Fobes Avenue) at Fulton Terrace and Fulton Street and Route 1 (Forbes Avenue) at Stiles Street and Wheeler Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven would be responsible for maintenance, repairs, rehabilitation of the equipment and sidewalk ramps including and snow and ice removal within project limits on Route 1; and
WHEREAS, CTDOT will administer the Construction Project; and
WHEREAS, CTDOT is fully funding this project under the Fix It First Roadway Program with one hundred (100%) State funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, by the Board of Alders for the City of New Haven that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign a Project Authorization Letter and any subsequent amendments related to CTDOT Project #0173-0542 concerning the installation and revision of traffic control signals on Route 1; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the Mayor or his/her designee is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of New Haven such actions as may be considered necessary and appropriate to support and implement the project.
