RESOLUTION TO THE BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE NEW HAVEN HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT AN AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT VOUCHER FROM THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,956,240 TO CONDUCT EPIDEMIOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS IN RESPONSE TO CHILDREN FOUND TO HAVE VENOUS BLOOD LEAD LEVELS OF 5 MICROGRAMS PER DECILITER OR GREATER IN THE CITY FOR THE PERIOD JULY 1, 2023 TO DECEMBER 31, 2026.

WHEREAS: the City of New Haven Health Department recognizes the importance ensuring that families with young children under the age of six should have access to healthy and safe housing; and

 

Whereas: the City of New Haven Health Department is committed to providing education and outreach on ways to abate lead hazards, the epidemiological investigation provides vital information and pinpoints the source of the lead hazard; and

 

WHEREAS: the City of New Haven will accept this voucher in its entirety to perform the state required epidemiological investigations; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to accept the voucher mentioned herein from the State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health.

 

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute said application for funding for an amount of $1,956,240.
