RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF NEW HAVEN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS IN AND AROUND TROWBRIDGE SQUARE

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of New Haven has offered the City of New Haven a grant to support the construction of early action improvements at Trowbridge Square; and
WHEREAS, the Union Square development is an exciting opportunity to benefit many in New Haven through creating a diverse and vibrant community; and
WHEREAS, funding for the Union Square development from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development provides for early action items to tangibly improve the surrounding neighborhood early in the project; and
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven and the Housing Authority of New Haven have partnered with the community through the Early Action Committee to identify improvements to Trowbridge Square; and
WHEREAS, the Parks Commission approved the improvements at its July 2024 meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN THAT THE MAYOR IS AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AND/OR THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND SIGN ANY ASSOCIATED AGREEMENTS, INCLUDING AGREEMENTS WITH CONTRACTORS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS, ANY OF WHICH MAY INCLUDE INDEMNIFICATION PROVISIONS AND WHICH MAY HAVE A TERM OF LONGER THAN ONE YEAR, THAT THE MAYOR DEEMS DESIRABLE OR NECESSARY, INCLUDING ANY SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNION SQUARE - EARLY ACTION IMPROVEMENTS IN AND AROUND TROWBRIDGE SQUARE
