ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS TO ACCEPT LIGHTING AND ASSOCIATED IMPROVEMENTS TO THE FARMINGTON CANAL GREENWAY FROM YALE UNIVERSITY

WHEREAS, Yale University is working with the City of New Haven to improve the safety of the Farmington Canal Greenway; and

WHEREAS, the Yale University is proposing the installation of lighting and associated infrastructure in the City-owned portion of the Farmington Canal Line between Division Street and the area south of Webster St; and

WHEREAS, lighting will improve the evening and nighttime visibility and security of the Farmington Canal Line; and

WHEREAS, improvements to the Farmington Canal Greenway are consistent with the City’s Greenways 2030 plan to create a high-quality network of greenways throughout the City.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor is authorized to accept improvements including lighting and associated improvements to the Farmington Canal Greenway from Yale University.
