WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill had a vehicle registered in New Haven in 2009, and

WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill moved to Virginia in October 2009, and

WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill did not notify Connecticut DMV nor the city that she moved, and

WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill was billed for the entire year, and

WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill moved back to Connecticut and her current car was towed for taxes, and

WHEREAS: Ms. Merrill had to pay these taxes to get her car and is now asking for assistance from the Board of Alders.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED by the New Haven Board of Alders that Ms. Merrill be refunded in the amount of $1,135.44 for the taxes and the interest she paid for account number 733591.
