ORDER OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN APPROVING THE CLOSURES OF ORANGE STREET BETWEEN CHAPEL STREET AND GEORGE STREET, CROWN STREET BETWEEN STATE STREET AND CHURCH STREET AND ORANGE STREET BETWEEN COURT STREET AND CHAPEL STREET ON FRIDAY MAY 15TH, 2026.

WHEREAS, the Town Green District shall host the New Haven Night Market - 9th Square Neighborhood on May 15th, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the rain date of the New Haven Night Market is May 16th with May 17th as an additional rain date; and
WHEREAS, the New Haven Night Market will be held from the hours of 5:00PM to 10:00PM; and
WHEREAS, working with the City of New Haven, the Town Green District shall have a Crossing Guard and/or Police Officer posted at the intersection of Orange Street and Chapel Street; and
WHEREAS, the closure of Orange Street between Center Street and George Street shall begin at 8am and last until 12am with traffic on Crown Street remaining open; and
WHEREAS, the closure of Crown Street between State and Church Street shall begin at 12pm and last until 12am with local garage access from State Street; and
Whereas, the closure of Orange Street between Court Street and Chapel Street shall begin at 12:30pm and last until 12am; and
Whereas, the closure of Orange Street between Chapel Street and Center Street shall begin at 4pm and last until 10pm with limited local access accommodated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the closures of Orange Street between Chapel Street and George Street, Crown Street between State Street and Church Street and Orange Street between Court Street and Chapel Street on Friday, May 15th, 2026 are hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that approval is granted for the alternative rain dates of May 16th or May 17th, 2026.
