ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING BUDGET TRANSFER #308-15-1 TRANSFERRING VACANT UTILIZATION MONITOR II (#13013) POSITION AND ACCOMPANYING FUNDING FROM COMMISSION ON EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND FINANCE TO COMMUNITY SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AND RE-TITLING THE POSTION TO SPECIAL PROJECTS DIRECTOR

WHEREAS, Section 60 of the Charter and Section 2-386 (1) & (3) of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders for the transfer of funds within the General Fund budget and for the creation of a new position; and

 

WHEREAS, there exists a funded vacancy in position #13013 Utilization Monitor II the Commission on Equal Opportunities, and

 

WHEREAS it has been determined by the Mayor in conjunction with the Community Services Administrator that there exists a need  for a position to assist the City and Board of Alder’s in identifying needs, effectively implementing interventions, transforming delivery systems, monitoring all the results and managing accountability projects that will improve the collective impacts of all Community Services departments, and

 

WHEREAS, the newly titled Special Projects Director position will have responsibilities including but not limited to advancing health equity, effective management of our commitment to end homelessness, significantly reduce lead poisoning for children six years old and under, violence, avoidable injuries, morbidities and mortalities caused by preventable unhealthy behaviors and social determinants. 

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that Transfer #308-15-1 be approved to transfer the vacant funded Utilization Monitor II  (#13013) position from the Commission on Equal Opportunities and the accompanying funding of  $49,186 from 1-705-1010-50110 and  Finance 1-137-1130-50110 Salaries to 1-308-1010-50110 Salaries and to re-title the position Special Projects Director.
