ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF CHURCH STREET BETWEEN CHAPEL STREET AND ELM STREET ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 9TH, AUGUST 16TH AND AUGUST 23RD OF 2026, WITH A RAIN DATE OF AUGUST 30TH 2026.

WHEREAS, the New Haven Open Street Festival shall be held on Sunday, August 9th, 2026; and
WHEREAS, additional dates for the New Haven Open Street Festival shall include Sunday, August 16, 2026 and Sunday, August 23, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the rain date for New Haven Open Street Festival shall be Sunday, August 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the New Haven Open Street Festival will be held from the hours of 1:00PM to 6:00PM; and
WHEREAS, due to the anticipated layout and event turnout, the closure of Church Street is required to ensure pedestrian safety; and
WHEREAS, the closure of Church Street between Chapel Street and Street Street shall begin at 9am and last until 9pm to accommodate event setup and breakdown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the closure of Church Street between Chapel street and Elm street on Sunday, August 9th, August 16th and August 23rd, 2026, with a rain date of August 30th 2026 is hereby approved.
