ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE #1 AUTHORIZING RECLASSIFICATION OF GENERAL FUND POSITIONS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2018-19

WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-386 of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders to create a position not included in the budget as adopted, or to reclassify an existing and included position; to increase the total annual salary estimate included in an appropriation for any reason; or the transfer of funds within the General Fund Operating Budget as adopted; and

 

WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works would like to reclassify vacant position(s) within their department; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works is requesting Board of Alder Approval to make the following position reclassifications within FY 2018-19 budget:

WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works currently has lapsed salary from various vacant position(s) to cover the additional salary increase.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that the re-classification of Citizen Response Administrator and Equipment Operator III (Position 4030) within the Department of Public Works be reclassified to Administration and Finance Manager with an estimated salary of $70,849 and Mechanic A with an estimated salary of $64,189.
