RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS ON EAST STREET.

WHEREAS, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has offered a grant to the City of New Haven to improve the safety of East Street;

 

WHEREAS, pedestrian access and connectivity on East St is very important for all New Haven residents and is part of the Safe Routes for All plan adopted by the City of New Haven; and

 

WHEREAS, the planned improvements will improve the safety of East Street for all users.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor is authorized to accept funding from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and sign any associated state agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the Mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements regarding the development and implementation of the East Street Cycletrack and safety improvements project.
