ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS DESIGNATING THE CORNER OF SHERMAN PARKWAY AND HARDING PLACE AS “CAMRYN’S CORNER” TO COMMEMORATE AND HONOR THE VIBRANT LIFE OF CAMRYN GAYLE, A DEDICATED CHEERLEADER AND SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR COUNTLESS YOUNG INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITY.

WHEREAS: Ms. Camryn “Mooka” Gayle was born in New Haven on August 11, 2004, to her father, the late Maxie Valentine Gayle "Mike" and her mother Elizabeth Robinson;

 

WHEREAS: her outgoing personality, love, and genuine care for all was admired by many young people in the community;

 

WHEREAS: she was a Senior at Cooperative Arts & Humanities Magnet High School, where she was in dance; 

 

WHEREAS: she was a dedicated cheerleader at Hillhouse High School and on the Fusion Drill Team; 

 

WHEREAS: she was an unwavering source of inspiration, touching the lives of countless individuals through her vibrant spirit, kindness, and commitment to uplifting others; 

 

WHEREAS: Camryn Gayle leaves a legacy of positivity and community engagement that continues to resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing her; and

 

WHEREAS: she will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and personality.

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the New Haven Board of Alders to designate the corner of Sherman Parkway and Harding Place as “Camryn’s Corner” to commemorate and honor the vibrant life of Ms. Camryn Gayle, a dedicated cheerleader and a source of inspiration for countless young individuals in our community.

 

BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking is hereby directed and authorized to implement this Order.

 

BE IT EVEN FURTHER ORDERED that a copy of this Order is hereby forwarded to the City Clerk.
