ORDER OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO ENTER INTO A MULTI YEAR AGREEMENT WITH APPTEGY INC. TO TRANSITION TO THEIR TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION SOFTWARE PLATFORM (DESKTOP AND MOBILE), WEBSITE HOSTING, CONTENT MIGRATION, ALERTS, ROOMS, NEWSLETTERS, SUPPORT SERVICE AND TRAINING FROM APRIL 8, 2025 TO JUNE 30, 2028

WHEREAS, Section 2-376 (A) of the Code of General Ordinances, "Unless expressly authorized by law or by vote of the Board of Alders, the city shall not be bound by any contract executed after one (1) year from the date thereof. The Board of Alders prior approval is necessary for any city contract that does not go to bid that costs more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00)"; and,
WHEREAS, the New Haven Public Schools system as directed by the Board of Education, has engaged with Apptegy Inc. to transition services and begin April 8, 2025 through June 30, 2025 for the development of a website and app that shall be in place beginning July 1, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, there is a multi-year agreement for services with Apptegy Inc. to transition to their two-way communication platform (desktop and mobile), website hosting, content migration, alerts, rooms, newsletters, support service and training room from April 8, 2025 to June 30, 2028; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed total cost of the startup transition costs total $29,000.00; and the multi-year agreement for continuous service is $369,861.00 ($123,287.00 annually); and,
WHEREAS, the district staff submitted the agreement to the Board of Education, which was approved at its April 14, 2025 & April 28, 2025 Board of Education meeting; and
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of New Haven requires the approval of the Board of Alders for the approval of multi-year agreements.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the multi-year agreement with Apptegy Inc. is hereby approved; and,
