RESOLUTION OF THE NEW HAVEN BOARD OF ALDERS AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AS PART OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CENTRAL OFFICES AT 424 CHAPEL STREET

WHEREAS, the Board of Education seeks to consolidate and update its central offices; and,
WHEREAS, the City of New Haven has approximately 22,000 square feet available on the second floor of 424 Chapel St; and,
WHEREAS, the Alders of the City of New Haven, are empowered to authorize the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the construction of central offices at 424 Chapel St; and,
WHEREAS, the Alders of the City of New Haven are empowered to name its Citywide School Buildings and Stewardship Committee as the building committee with regard to the he construction of central offices at 424 Chapel St; and,
WHEREAS, the Alders of the City of New Haven, are empowered to authorize the preparation of drawings and specifications for the he construction of central offices at 424 Chapel St.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF
NEW HAVEN:
(1) that the Alders of the City of New Haven, authorize the Board of Education of New Haven Public Schools to apply to the Commissioner of Administrative Services and to accept or reject a grant for the construction of central office space at 424 Chapel St; and,
(2) that the Alders of the City of Haven name its Citywide School Buildings and Stewardship Committee as the building committee with regard to the construction of central office space at 424 Chapel St; and,
(3) that the Alders of the City of New Haven, hereby authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of central offices at 424 Chapel St; and,
