RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF ALDERS OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ACCEPT AN URBAN ACT BOND AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF UP TO TWO HUNDRED FOURTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($243,000.00) FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO LIGHTING AND POWER ACCESS AT EDGEWOOD PARK.

WHEREAS, at their May 29, 2026 meeting, the State of Connecticut Bond Commission awarded the City of New Haven (“the City”) $243,000 in state bond funding for improvements to lighting and power access at Edgewood Park; and
WHEREAS, the New Haven state delegation played an instrumental role in securing these State Bond Commission funds for improvements to lighting and power access at Edgewood Park; and
WHEREAS, the Connecticut State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (“CTDEEP”) will be administering the release of these funds; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of receiving the funds, the City is asked to provide various documentation in addition to approval by the legislative body; and
WHEREAS, the Attorney General’s office requires certain and specific documentation to be executed before work can begin; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor of the City of New Haven or their designee is hereby authorized to accept an award of up to $243,000 in Urban Act Bond funding from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for improvements to lighting and power access at Edgewood Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Alders of the City of New Haven that the Mayor of the City of New Haven or their designee is authorized to sign any associated agreements, agreements with contractors, and other documents, any of which may include indemnification provisions and which may have a term of longer than one year, that the Mayor deems desirable or necessary, including any subsequent amendments to agreements, related to the implementation of this award.
