ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO APPROPRIATING ORDINANCE # 1 AUTHORIZING RECLASSIFICATION OF GENERAL FUND POSITIONS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF PARKS/PUBLIC WORKS, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH, AND OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE SERVICES AND FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 BE TRANSFERRED FROM MAYORS’S OFFICE SALARY ACCOUNT (1-131-1010-50110) TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS/PUBLIC WORKS (1-504-1010-50110)IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,000 AND DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH (1-301-1010-50110) IN THE AMOUNT OF $14,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-21

WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section 3 of the City Charter and Section 2-386 of the Code of General Ordinances requires the approval of the Board of Alders to create a position not included in the budget as adopted, or to reclassify an existing and included position; to increase the total annual salary estimate included in an appropriation for any reason; or the transfer of funds within the General Fund Operating Budget as adopted; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Parks/Public Works, Office of Legislative Services, and Department of Public Health are seeking approval to reclassify vacant/filled position(s) within their departments and are requesting Board of Alder Approval to make the following position reclassifications within FY 2020-21 budget:

WHEREAS, Funds for this transfer are available through a vacancy in the Mayor’s Office of position 3000, Budget Director and funds from the Mayor’s Office salary account will be transferred to The Department of Parks/Public Works and Department of Public Health.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the New Haven Board of Alders that the re-classification of the positions for The Department of Parks/Public Works, Office of Legislative Services and Department of Public Health be reclassified and funds in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($25,000) be transferred from Mayor’s Office salary account (1-131-1010-50110) to The Department of Parks/Public Works (1-504-1010-50110) in the amount of $14,000 and Department of Public Health (1-130-1010-50110) in the amount of $11,000
